Privacy by design

When you run Almost locally with your own model key, the source and draft you check are processed on your own machine and are not sent to Aqta. A signed receipt carries only SHA-256 hashes and verdicts, never the content of your source or draft, so it can be shared without exposing what was checked.

What we process

If you use a hosted plan, the text you submit is processed only to run the check and return the result, and is not kept afterwards. For an account we process your email address and the billing details needed to provide the service.

Legal basis

We process personal data to perform our contract with you and, where relevant, for our legitimate interest in running and securing the service.

Sub-processors and transfers

A hosted check may be processed by the model provider selected for it and by our hosting provider. Where processing takes place outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by appropriate safeguards. We name our sub-processors on request.

Retention and security

We keep account data while your account is active, and only as long as needed after that. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, erase, or port your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
