Trust

Almost is a fail-closed claim gate. This page states what a check and a receipt prove, and what they do not. Short version: we do not claim to be certified, compliant, or court-admissible.

What a receipt proves

Each check can leave a signed receipt (Ed25519). It carries hashes of what was checked, the BOUND / GAP verdicts, and a signature over those bytes. Open the file at /verify. Change one letter and verification fails. The receipt does not reprint your source document or your draft text.

The published verify key is available from the product (/api/public-key). You can re-check without trusting our UI.

How a check works

A model may propose candidate quotes. Almost still decides backed vs held with a strict match to your source: invent is held; BOUND requires a verified quote that supports the claim. The model cannot make a claim look supported.

Hosted checks

Browser and hosted checks may use cloud helpers to find candidate quotes. We never claim the live check is air-gapped. When you run Almost locally with your own model key, source and draft stay on your machine; see Privacy.

Free paste-and-check proves the hold. Pro keeps the gate in Intercom Fin, Clear, or the API so invent cannot leave because someone forgot a tab. A receipt you can hand a human is what makes that rent stick.
